CV Engine for Mac
Release notes.
What’s in the app today, and what’s taking shape for the next update.
1.0 — Your CV, at home on your Mac
The first App Store release of CV Engine brings your experience, education and publications into one place, with a finished PDF alongside your work.
- A starting point that helps. Explore an editable fictional sample, create a blank CV, or import a compatible CV JSON file.
- Room for more than one CV. Keep separate content, templates and saved history for different opportunities.
- Twelve included templates. Choose a resume layout or the faculty template for an academic CV.
- Control over the details. Arrange sections, preserve supported bold, italic and underlined text, and add page breaks between sections or within supported sections.
- A PDF as you work. Review your layout, export a PDF or Typst source, and share the finished document.
- Offline by design. CV content stays on your Mac unless you export or share it. No account is required.
Version 1.0 supports compatible JSON import. Direct Word and PDF import are not included.
1.1 — A clearer place to begin
The next update focuses on getting started and finding your way around the editor.
- A more helpful welcome. Clear choices for exploring the sample, creating a blank CV or importing compatible JSON.
- See a sample before you start. Preview the fictional sample in your chosen template during setup.
- A better organized editor. Clearer section headings, grouped personal details, and more visible template and PDF export controls.
