CV Engine for Mac
Privacy policy
Your CV belongs on your Mac. You choose when and where to share it.
CV Engine is developed by Vincent Toms. This policy covers the version 1.0 Mac app and cvengine.ai. Some prerelease builds display the name Brilliant CV; the same app policy applies to those builds when AI functionality is disabled.
The version 1.0 app does not collect your CV content or contact information. It has no account, advertising, tracking, developer-operated analytics or cloud processing. Network access from the app is disabled.
CVs and local storage
Your CVs, imported content, preferences and saved version history are stored on your Mac. Creating and editing CVs, importing compatible JSON files and exporting PDFs do not send your CV data to us or a third-party service.
The sample CV, templates, fonts and PDF compiler are included in the app. AI services are not available in version 1.0.
Exporting, sharing and backups
Files you export or share go to the destination you choose. Another app, a cloud folder or your Mac’s backup service may keep its own copies under that service’s policies. CV Engine does not control those copies.
Apple handles App Store downloads and any App Store diagnostics or other information you choose to share with Apple under Apple’s privacy policy.
Retention and deletion
Local CV data and saved versions remain until you remove them. Removing text from the current CV does not remove it from older saved versions, exported files or backups. We cannot remotely access or delete your local library.
You can remove the app’s local library using the data removal instructions. Export anything you want to keep first. Copies stored by your backup or sharing services must be removed separately.
When you visit this website
Cloudflare hosts and protects cvengine.ai. To deliver pages and secure the service, Cloudflare processes technical request information, such as your IP address, requested URL and browser information, under Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
We do not add advertising trackers or website analytics. The site uses local assets and system fonts. Cloudflare may use cookies or similar mechanisms for security and abuse prevention. The website does not receive CV data from the Mac app.
When you contact support
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message or attachments. Our email providers process that correspondence to deliver and store it. We use it to respond, troubleshoot issues and follow up on your request.
Please send only the information needed to explain the issue. A redacted screenshot or fictional example is usually enough; you do not need to send your full CV.
We keep support correspondence as needed to handle your request, related follow-up and applicable legal obligations. You can request access, correction or deletion of information you sent to support by contacting us below. We do not sell your personal information or use support messages for advertising.
Earlier development builds
Earlier builds may have offered optional external AI services. Information you chose to send through those versions remains subject to the receiving provider’s policies. Version 1.0 does not read or use a saved AI service credential. Any future feature that shares CV data with a provider will require a new disclosure and permission before use.
Policy updates
Changes will be posted here with an updated date. Review the policy included with the app version you use; this page’s app-specific statements describe version 1.0.
